Alan L. Eggers ’19 earns the Congressional Medal of Honor, America’s highest military decoration. During a battle in France, Eggers crossed an open field to a disabled tank, carried a wounded officer and two soldiers from the tank to cover, returned to the tank to dismount its machine gun and kept the enemy at bay until the three wounded men could be returned to the Allied forces. Eggers also earned the Distinguished Service Cross for his heroism.
