Borrow Direct expands west

The University of Chicago just joined the library’s Borrow Direct partnership - which means books and other materials from the Windy City will be winging their way to Ithaca soon.

The partnership, established in 1999, allows library users to borrow circulating materials from member institutions Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Penn, Princeton, Yale, the Center for Research Libraries, and now the University of Chicago. Harvard and MIT joined in 2011.

The system now boasts more than 50 million volumes, and more than 1.5 million items have been shared throughout the partnership’s history.
