ITHACA, N.Y. – Girls' Adventures in Math (GAIM), a team-based math competition for girls in grades 3-8, will be held at Cornell University on Sunday, April 29 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Participants will be required to engage in “creative, strategic, out-of-the-box problem-solving” in order to win. For the event’s final hour, students and coaches will gather in the Groos Family Atrium in Klarman Hall to play curated strategy games. A farewell and awards presentation will follow.

Twenty-two teams will compete in the upper elementary division (grades three through five) and 13 in the middle school division (grades six through eight). Each team has four girls, with a total of 140 competitors for the event. Teams from Tompkins, Onondaga and Chemung counties have registered. Each school may enroll up to four teams.

More information can be found on the GAIM website.
