Judith Holliday dies at age 69

Judith E. Holliday, a former fine arts librarian at Cornell, died Feb. 8, surrounded by family and friends at home. She was 69.

Holliday retired as fine arts librarian in 1996 after almost 40 years on the professional staff of Cornell University Libraries. She received her bachelor's degree from the College of Wooster and a master's degree in library science from Columbia University.

"Judith was a dear friend and valued colleague of faculty and staff in our college for many years, and a generous and dedicated mentor to generations of students," said Stan Taft, interim dean of the College of Architecture, Art and Planning, in a message to faculty and staff.

Holliday is survived by several family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ithaca at a date to be announced. At Holliday's request, memorial contributions can be made to the Tompkins County Public Library, 101 E. Green St., Ithaca, NY 14850; or to the SPCA of Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
