Library offers free workshops on using the Web

The world of information is changing quickly, and its fast evolution makes the research process demanding. Cornell's librarians can help you find and manage electronic information and take full advantage of the wealth of resources available to the Cornell community.

This semester, librarians from Olin and Uris libraries offer workshops on 20 different topics for the Cornell community, ranging from basic Web design to navigating advanced geographical imaging systems. Workshops are open to all staff members and are free of charge. New this semester is the Web 2.0 tools series, which introduces free Web tools to use to do research and collaborate with friends and colleagues through blogging, RSS readers, social bookmarking and Facebook.

Wondering how to improve your Web skills, create compelling PowerPoint presentations or use online resources to study your genealogy? Join us for any or all of the workshops. Visit our Web site for a complete list, class descriptions and registration information: http://www.library.cornell.edu/olinuris/ref/workshop.html. Registration for workshops is available on a first-come, first-served basis and closes the day of the class.
