New workshop on personal boundaries offered

A new workshop, "Good Fences Make Good Neighbors," from the Employee Assistance Program will be offered Oct. 8, 2-4 p.m. in Day Hall.

"We each have an invisible circle or boundary of comfort that we become aware of when a stranger, acquaintance or co-worker stands too close to us, or is 'too personal,' 'too friendly,' 'too familiar,' or behaves in a way that we feel or believe is inappropriate or unsafe for us," says Cindy Glanville, a clinician and workplace consultant and instructor for the workshop. "This workshop will describe the different kinds of personal boundaries that all people have, whether emotional, spiritual, sexual or relational, and provide guidance on protecting your own personal boundaries and individuality, as well as ways to ensure that you respect others' personal boundaries and individuality."

The workshop is free and open to all staff and faculty. To register, go to http://cornell.veplan.net/Education/course.aspx?c=6888.
