Wellness Program offers noon lectures, support groups

The Cornell Wellness Program is offering a new series of noontime lectures and support groups for the Cornell community. Registration is not required.

The "Know Your Numbers" lecture series includes "Diabetes Basics," Feb. 12; "The Skinny on Body Mass Index," Feb. 19; and "The Clear Path to Improved Cholesterol," March 26. All lectures will be held in G01 Biotech Building, noon-1 p.m. Participants can bring their own lunches.

Several support groups will be held monthly during the spring semester, noon-1 p.m.

The Weight Loss Surgery Support Group is intended for people who are contemplating undergoing or recovering from weight loss surgery. The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month in E435, the Fern Room, Corson-Mudd Hall. Upcoming meetings are Feb. 10, March 10, April 14 and May 12.

The Diabetes Support Group, for anyone who is diabetic, pre-diabetic or just interested in learning more about this disease, is scheduled for the third Wednesday of every month in S3 105 Schurman Hall. Upcoming meeting dates are Feb. 18, March 18, April 15 and May 20.

The Cancer Support Group, for anyone who has cancer or is a caregiver, family member or friend of someone diagnosed with cancer, is held on the third Friday of every month in B12 Day Hall. Upcoming meeting dates are Feb. 20, March 20, April 17 and May 15.
