Joint symposium to explore business and medicine

Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) and the Johnson School will co-host the Cornell Business Medicine Symposium April 30 from 3 to 8 p.m. in WCMC's Uris Auditorium in New York City.

The annual intercampus symposium will explore how business and medicine can collaborate to solve today's health-care challenges, and will feature panel discussions on the state of collaboration among industry, academia and government to address global public health needs; and on the ways that evolving reimbursement practices are changing what it means to be a doctor.

The symposium is an extension of Cornell's "Sick in America" series, which features six events in Ithaca April 20-24 examining the state of health care in the United States.

The New York City event, which will be simulcast to Sage Hall on the Ithaca campus, will also feature posters about Cornell research provided by the Cornell Center for Technology Enterprise and Commercialization.
