Cornell strikes gold and also wins two bronze CASE awards

Cornell has garnered three wins in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) annual Circle of Excellence Awards, a worldwide competition that honors exemplary programs and activities in higher education in several areas of communications, alumni relations and fundraising.

The awards are:

• Gold in individual photographs category for a photo called "Returning to Tern Island" of a researcher at Shoals Marine Lab in Maine by university photographer Jason Koski;

• Bronze in the category Individual Sub-Web Sites, for University Photography's Image Library, which was developed and is managed by Corey Chimko, University Photography's Web designer; and

• Bronze in the category Individual Special Events, which was in recognition of the dedication of Weill Hall and one of its major occupants, the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology. The event was managed by the Campaign Office of the Division of Alumni Affairs and Development, with assistance from Weill Hall staff and faculty members.

This year CASE received more than 2,800 entries from 13 countries and conferred a total of 286 bronze, silver, gold and grand gold awards in 39 categories.
