First-year student found dead in residence hall

Boon Jim Lim '13 of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences, was found dead in his bed in his Clara Dickson Hall room in the early hours of Oct. 19.

No foul play is suspected, and the death was not illness related, said Simeon Moss '73, Cornell's deputy spokesperson.

Lim's body was found by a staff member, who entered Lim's room at 3:45 a.m. after he had been told by a student who knew Lim's family that they had not heard from him for several days. Lim was known to speak to his family regularly.

Lim was pronounced dead at 3:55 a.m. by paramedics from Bangs Ambulance. Cornell University Police also responded to the call.
