Cornell shines in sciences, humanities

The 2012 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings by Subject have placed Cornell in the world's top 200 institutions in many categories, ranging from hard sciences to the humanities.

Publishing world university rankings since 2004, QS most recently named Cornell the No. 15 university in the world overall in 2011, up one spot from the year previous.

QS ranked Cornell among the following disciplines this year:
