Campus mourns death of student

Cornell President David Skorton expressed condolences today on the death of sophomore Joseph Quandt, 20, who was found in his room in Watermargin Cooperative, 103 McGraw Place, on Wednesday night, Feb. 27. No foul play is suspected, and preliminary information appears to indicate the death was from natural causes. As a matter of protocol, his death is being investigated by the Cornell Police with assistance from the Ithaca Police Department.

"I want to join Joseph's friends, teachers and colleagues in offering the university's heartfelt condolences to his family on this very sad news," said Skorton.

Quandt, from Solon, Ohio, was an Urban and Regional Studies major in the College of Architecture, Art and Planning.
