Recent meetings:

  • GPSA: Dec. 2 Passed a resolution in support of a grassroots campaign called “GradsHaveDebt2,” drawing attention to the disparity of interest rates on loans to graduate vs. undergraduates; grads had a call-in to their representatives in Congress, urging them to rectify these disparities. The project manager of the Big Red Barn gave a presentation about the scheduled summer renovation.
  • UA: Dec. 3 Members hosted a diversity panel discussion with Renee Alexander and A.T. Miller that stimulated discussion on recent bias incidents on campus and the goals of the Toward New Destinations initiative, which have resulted in a reporting website for incidents of bias and a committee that meets immediately to formulate a response to said incidents.
  • EA: Dec. 4 Members heard a presentation from Ruth Merle Doyle and Erin Kelly regarding the CARE fund (Cornellians Aiding and Responding to Employees).
  • SA: Nov. 21 Focused on distribution of the Student Activity Fee to each of the byline-funded organizations. A discussion was held on the allocation of ALANA (African Latino Asian Native American), a general programming board that represents and funds over 50 student organizations.
  • Assemblies Leadership Breakfast: Dec. 4 Chief of Police Kathy Zoner discussed campus safety and recent drug-related incidents and sexual assaults on campus.
