Michael Brown case is subject of 'Forum on Ferguson II'

The imminent grand jury verdict on the police killing of an unarmed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, has refocused national attention on the case.

A forum sponsored by the Africana Studies and Research Center, Cornell Law School and Black Students United will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at 4:30 p.m. at the Cornell Africana Studies and Research Center Multipurpose Room, 310 Triphammer Road. The four-member forum will include representatives from Ithaca and Cornell law enforcement, faculty and students.

Forum participants include Ithaca Chief of Police John R. Barber; Noelani Gabriel ’16, co-president of the Black Women's Support Network and coordinator of the BOSS (Building Ourselves through Sisterhood and Service) Peer Mentorship Program for women of color at Cornell; civil rights lawyer Joe Margulies, visiting professor in the Cornell Law School and the Department of Government; and Chief of Cornell University Police Kathy Zoner.
