A branch of the Cornell Store has opened at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, offering Cornell-themed apparel and gift items, academic supplies and services to assist faculty and staff with sourcing computer hardware and accessories.

The new store – called the Cornell Store at Weill Cornell – is located at 1300 York Ave. at 69th Street, at the entrance to the Medical College Library. Store hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to serving the Weill Cornell community with individual purchases, the store provides assistance with departmental special orders, volume orders and product support, for example to provide a quantity of Cornell-branded items for conferences. The store is also ready to serve Cornell alumni and organizations in the New York metropolitan region.

 “We’ve been supporting Weill Cornell students, faculty and staff through pop-up events and an online store for the last 18 months and are delighted to now provide them with a beautiful store and increased services,” said Fred Piccirilli, director of the Cornell Store. “We and the Medical College Library staff received incredibly positive feedback to the pop-up shops. The Cornell Store is an integral part of the Ithaca campus and we look forward to being of similar service to the Weill Cornell community.”

The store opened unofficially in late November and will have a grand opening event Tuesday, Dec. 9, during which customers will receive 20 percent off almost everything in the store and the first 250 customers will receive a free, reusable Big Red Bag with any purchase. For the grand opening, there will be special extended hours, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The main location of the Cornell Store is on Ithaca’s central campus between Ho Plaza and Day Hall, offering textbooks, general books, art and architecture supplies, apparel, gifts and a technology store. There are branch locations in the Statler Hotel, Sage Hall and the Shops at Ithaca Mall.
