Psi Upsilon fraternity suspends activities

Vice President for University Relations Joel Malina issued the following statement Jan. 30:

Effective January 30, 2015, Psi Upsilon fraternity has suspended all social and new member education activities as a result of an incident involving alleged use of alcohol and an illicit substance. The suspension is the outcome of a mutual agreement between the Psi Upsilon national fraternity, the Cornell chapter and their alumni, and Cornell University.

The purpose of the suspension is to prevent activities that could jeopardize the safety of the members and their guests, and to allow an investigation of the incident to proceed without the potential of further incidents.
