The fourth annual Community Engagement Showcase will be held Monday, April 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Physical Sciences Building Atrium. A celebration of local and global community-engaged projects, the showcase promotes high-impact learning, experiential education, critical reflection and community partnerships.

More than 75 students and faculty will present their projects at the showcase, demonstrating the range of local, regional and global community-engagement efforts at the university. The event will also feature student projects from the Clinton Global Initiative University Annual Meeting. Cal Walker, outreach liaison in Cornell’s Office of Community Relations, will give the keynote address. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the projects and how to get involved in community-engagement programs on campus.

The event will include a ceremony for faculty and student project awards, co-sponsored by Engaged Learning and Research, the Public Service Center, the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives and the Community Learning and Service Partnership. Winning student projects will receive $1,500 to support future community-engagement initiatives; award recipients will be selected based on their impact on the communities they serve, project sustainability and knowledge dissemination in the Cornell community and beyond.

The George D. Levy Engaged Teaching Award will be given to a Cornell faculty member whose collaborative efforts in the community have resulted in exemplary and sustained community-engaged projects.
