PCCW microgrants fund women-led student projects

The President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) has announced the recipients of its PCCW spring 2017 microgrants. The goal of this newly established funding is to support student-led projects or events that empower women and raise awareness of women’s issues in the Cornell community.

“We are delighted to support such a wide-ranging group of student organizations – athletes, scientists, musicians and more – that create opportunities to network and promote discussion among students, faculty, administrators and alumnae,” said Jeannette Pérez-Rosselló ’91, chair of PCCW. “Networking is about creating a larger whole from the sum of the parts and lifting each other.”

The President’s Council of Cornell Women is an alumnae group of industry and academic leaders, including Fortune 500 CEOs, lawyers, judges, physicians, professors and nonprofit executives. It supports Cornell women through active mentoring programs, scholarships and grants to student leaders, athletes and campus organizations, and research grants to pre-tenured faculty members. Over the past 25 years, PCCW has awarded more than $4 million in grants.
