BEAR Walk is Aug. 17 in Collegetown/Belle Sherman areas
By Nancy Doolittle
The fourth annual BEAR (Being Engaged and Responsible) Walk through the Collegetown and Belle Sherman neighborhoods will be held Aug. 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., starting at St. Luke’s Fellowship Hall, 109 Oak Ave. (right behind Collegetown Bagels). New this year: The walk will begin with dinner, for which pre-registration is needed.
This high-spirited, good-neighbor event brings together students, neighbors, city officials, Cornell staff and local businesses who share the goal of promoting a greater sense of community and connection throughout the vibrant Collegetown/Belle Sherman neighborhood.
Students, staff and neighbors will share a community dinner and celebration. Teams then will walk through the neighborhood, distributing door tags with important safety information; tips on successful tenant, landlord and neighborhood relationships; and Party Safe/Party Smart information.
Those interested in attending the dinner and walk are asked to submit a completed online registration form by Aug. 10.
