With Hurricane Harvey continuing to deluge Houston and many areas along the Texas coast, a Cornell-affiliated dog genetics company, Embark Veterinary, hopes to make a difference.
Starting today, Aug. 30, through Sunday, Sept. 3, Embark, which provides the most comprehensive dog DNA test available, will donate 100 percent of their net profits to help canines affected by the disaster.
The company was founded by Adam Boyko, assistant professor in biomedical sciences at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, and his brother Ryan Boyko, in partnership with the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Spencer Wells, a pioneer in consumer genetics.
Embark was developed through The Kevin M. McGovern Family Center for Venture Development in the Life Sciences, Cornell’s incubator for life science companies.
