5k Run helps United Way; next up, women's hockey against Wisconsin

United Way Goal Tracker.

The Homecoming 5k run Oct. 21, with 53 students, 27 alumni and nine staff, parents and others participating, raised $2,000 for the United Way campaign.

Now, in support of that campaign and to remind the Cornell community that this year’s campaign deadline is rapidly approaching, Cornell women’s ice hockey will benefit the United Way in its game against the University of Wisconsin, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. in Lynah Rink.

Wisconsin is sure to be a formidable opponent: the team is undefeated and the consensus #1 team in the nation.

Wisconsin averages 2,500 fans at their games and beat Ohio State this past weekend.  This is their first visit to Cornell.

Let’s show we value our women’s hockey team and the United Way by packing the stands and setting our own record attendance. Thanks to the William Henry Miller Inn and other community donors, United Way will receive funding for local programs as we cheer on Big Red.

On the way in, stop at the United Way information table to spin the wheel to win fun prizes and buy a limited-edition t-shirt.

Can’t make the game? Consider giving a gift today. The Cornell United Way campaign ends Nov. 30.
