Cornell Press' Grateful Dead book earns Grammy nomination

The book “Cornell ’77: The Music, the Myth, and the Magnificence of the Grateful Dead’s Concert at Barton Hall,” published by Cornell University Press, has been nominated for a Grammy as part of Rhino’s box set “May 1977: Get Shown the Light.”

Earlier this year, the Cornell Chronicle reported, “Of more than 2,300 concerts over the Grateful Dead’s 30-year touring career, there is one performance more famous than others, widely considered their best: May 8, 1977, in Cornell’s Barton Hall.” The campus and Ithaca communities celebrated the 40th anniversary of the concert in May.
