Employee Celebration tickets on sale through Feb. 8

Families enjoy the 2017 Winter Employee Celebration.

Tickets are on sale through Feb. 8 for the Winter Employee Celebration for staff, faculty, retirees and their families. The event, to be held Feb. 17, features athletics events, a Cornell community dinner and family bowling.

A $5 ticket includes dinner and all athletic events except men’s hockey, which is sold out.

Tickets can be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office, 103 Bartels Hall (Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), or call 255-4247.

Featured events:

  • Noon to 6 p.m.: Family bowling at Helen Newman Bowling Lanes ($2 games, $1 shoes)
  • 1 p.m.: Women’s Lacrosse vs. Villanova
  • 4 p.m.: Women’s Basketball vs. Penn
  • 6:30 p.m.: Men’s Basketball vs. Penn
  • 7:30 p.m.: Men’s Polo vs. Harvard

The community dinner will be held 3-5:30 p.m. in the Ramin Room, Bartels Hall, and will feature chicken parmesan and baked ziti. A vegan option will be available. Entertainment will be provided by Big Red Bear (the university mascot), the Pep Band and CrossRoad Clown and children’s activities. Parking will be free at Hoy Garage with Cornell University ID.

The Cornell Cinema is offering three different shows on February 17: "Wonderstruck" (2 p.m.); "The Disaster Artist" (7 p.m.); "Thor: Ragnarok" (9:20 p.m.). All will be at the Cornell Cinema in Willard Straight Hall. See website for pricing.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed for set up (1-2:30 p.m.), serving (2:30-5:30 p.m.) or clean-up (5:30-6:30 p.m.). Each volunteer will receive an Employee Celebration t-shirt and complimentary meal/game ticket.
