An inflatable portal offering immersive conversations with other portal users all over the world will be on campus March 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Biotech atrium.
The “pop-up portal” offers Cornellians and Ithacans a preview before Cornell’s portal arrives in August.
The gold-painted shipping container, equipped with audiovisual technology and curated for conversations and collaborations with portal users from Iraq to Honduras to Manhattan, will be on the Arts Quad from August to November. Classes, groups and individuals can sign up to use it, and the Center for Teaching Innovation can help faculty prepare class programming in advance.
The portal on the Arts Quad and the pop-up version in Biotech will both be open to the public.
The portal is being coordinated by Cornell University Library and sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs and the Office of Engagement Initiatives. For more information, check the project FAQs or email email@example.com.
