One of the largest workplace observances at Cornell, the office professionals program pays tribute to the contributions of the university’s office staff. It was originally organized in 1988 as the Secretaries Day Symposium by co-founders Alice B. Cook and Jennie T. Farley, who were faculty members and colleagues at the ILR School. Farley also was a champion of women’s rights, a member of the Cornell University Board of Trustees and co-founder of the Women’s Studies Program.
