A room of White's own

A room in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house was dedicated to its former occupant, essayist and children’s books author E.B. White ’21, during Reunion.
White, editor of the Cornell Daily Sun and Phi Gamma Delta chapter president, became a New Yorker writer and wrote the classics “Charlotte’s Web,” “Stuart Little” and, with his former professor William Strunk, “The Elements of Style.”
White’s granddaughter, Martha White, editor of several collections of E.B. White’s works, sent her greetings, noting her grandfather would have been pleased by the honor. His former room will be the meeting place for the fraternity’s undergraduate leadership training and development program.
