Honoring Malcolm X

Fifty years ago this Saturday, Malcolm X was assassinated at the age of 39.

In collaboration with Riché Richardson, associate professor of Africana studies, the Africana Library has staged a display honoring the African-American leader.

The exhibit includes an essay about Malcolm X that Richardson wrote and had published when she was 17 years old. It also includes a print card of the Malcolm X quilt that Richardson created, a replica copy of the New York Times from Feb. 22, 1965, detailing Malcolm’s assassination, and more.
