Roundtables to explore 2020 Biennial theme 'Swarm'

The Cornell Council for the Arts is holding three lunchtime roundtables in preparation for the 2020 Cornell Biennial, focused on the theme “Swarm: Ecology, Digitality, Sociality.”

At each roundtable, an interdisciplinary group of faculty members and students will informally discuss their work and research, shedding light on areas of scholarship on campus and in the world related to the theme. The discussions are intended to ignite ideas and inspire new partnerships across art, design, performance, science and engineering disciplines, leading to project proposals for the Biennial.

The first roundtable is Nov. 18 at noon in 3088 Martha Van Rensselaer Hall, with invited participants from the Departments of Fiber Science & Apparel Design, Design + Environmental Analysis, and Landscape Architecture.

Faculty and students from the Department of Art and Department of Architecture are featured Nov. 21 at 11:30 a.m. in 407 Olive Tjaden Hall. Representatives from the Creative Writing Program, the Department of Music and the Department of Performing and Media Arts are featured Nov. 25 at noon in 101B Lincoln Hall.

To register for any of the discussions, email CCA program coordinator Erin Emerson and indicate the date you would like to attend.
