Cornell experts available on White House Extreme Heat Summit

The White House will convene a summit focused on extreme heat today, assembling officials across states, localities, tribes and territories to build momentum for more effective action plans and response efforts. Cornell University researchers are studying extreme heat from a range of disciplines, writing policy memos on challenges like addressing extreme heat in schools — and are actively engaged in improving response plans. The following experts are available today:


Alistair Hayden

Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Public & Ecosystem Health

Alistair Hayden is a professor of practice in public and ecosystem health and a former division chief at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. Hayden is developing an online planning tool to help agencies nationwide build better plans for extreme heat.
