Phil and Susan Bartels, founders of Cornell’s Bartels Awards for Custodial Service Excellence, and retired Building Care director Rob Osborn returned to campus Dec. 14 to recognize the work of more than 400 Building Care staff.
Frederick Burgess, recently the commanding officer of Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Washington, D.C., has been named vice president for infrastructure, properties and planning at Cornell. His appointment begins Sept. 1.
The CARE Fund (Cornellians Aiding and Responding to Employees) needs to bolster its funding through donations by Cornell community members for its annual CARE Fund Online Auction, to be held Nov. 4-8. Donations are needed by Oct. 15.

The Cornellians Aiding and Responding to Employees Fund online auction, Nov. 4-8, raised $7,800 to benefit faculty and staff who have experienced a nonrecurring sudden or emergency-related financial hardship due to an unforeseen event.
