The ninth annual Soup & Hope series opened with a talk by Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo ’08, who described her personal journey toward authenticity, letting herself learn how to express and control her emotions in public.
Since the early 1970s, Cornell students have begun their dive training in the pool of Teagle Hall and making deeper dives in Cayuga Lake. The program has certified about 2,000 divers in its history.
A vigil for Nicholas Kau, a student who died Jan. 10 in New York City, will be held Jan. 16 in Manhattan, and funeral services will be Jan. 17. A campus memorial service is being planned for next week. (Jan. 15, 2009)
Andre Bensadoun, Cornell professor emeritus of nutritional sciences, was named an honorary professor at the l'Institut Polytechnique de Toulouse, France, for his lifetime accomplishments.
