A formal ceremony to reaffirm the long-standing partnership between Cornell and the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) will be held at the Indian Village on the New York State Fair grounds on Indian Day, Friday, Aug. 29.

Charles E. Palm, Cornell dean of the College of Agriculture from 1959 to 1972 and the university's first Liberty Hyde Bailey Professor of Agricultural Sciences, died Feb. 25 at the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca. He was 84. As a true leader and innovator in many scientific and academic fronts.
Theodore L. Hullar, the biochemist who served as chancellor of the University of California at Davis and at Riverside in the 1980s and '90s, as well as director of the Cornell Agricultural Experiment Station in the 1980s, will return to Ithaca as director of the Cornell Center for the Environment.
