On May 22, the Cornell Merrill Presidential Scholars Program honored 32 outstanding graduating seniors and the high school teachers and university faculty members who mentored them.
In her annual State of the Medical College address Dec. 7, Dr. Laurie H. Glimcher, the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine, said WCM is at the forefront of scientific innovation.
The news was met with cheers from supporters on two continents. After months of negotiations, Cornell and Technion's proposal was announced the winner of a bid to build a groundbreaking campus in New York City.
Cornell is sponsoring the Sunday hours Oct. 19 at Tompkins County Public Library, and scholar-athletes and administrators from the East Hill campus will be on hand to read to children and assist library patrons.
Throughout Cornell's history, the campus exists as a fluid representation of history, culture, science, the arts and tradition, which give way to modern mores and contemporary values.
Environmental sculptor Andy Goldsworthy will present a public lecture "Rivers and Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working with Time," on Dec. 4 , at 7:30 p.m. in the David Call Alumni Auditorium of Kennedy Hall on the Cornell campus.
Bruce Ganem, Ronald Harris-Warrick, Mary Beth Norton and Richard Rand have been chosen for the 2008 Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellowships for excellence in teaching and advising. (Jan. 26, 2009)
