The annual Danby Fun Day will be held Sept. 23, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., on the grounds of the Danby Volunteer Fire Company.

Danby Fun Day has been the centerpiece of the summer season in Danby for several decades. Over the years, it has featured a parade; two music venues (acoustic and amplified) showcasing local musicians; games for kids; a chicken BBQ and other culinary treats prepared by the fire volunteers; craft vendors; educational safety demonstrations created by first responders; a used book sale; archery instruction; a huge Chinese Auction; and local history displays.

The event is also one of the major fundraisers – and volunteer recruitment moments – for Danby's fire departments. Visitors can tour the fire station, see the fire trucks and talk to the friendly volunteers.
