Margaret Hendricks named development director at Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine

Margaret Hendricks has joined the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine as director of development.

Most recently director of the 1998 National Conference on Volunteerism at Cornell's College of Human Ecology, Hendricks will be responsible for development programs to secure private support for the veterinary college, including individual giving, planned giving, and corporate and foundations relations.

Hendricks' experience in development and major-gifts work includes Ohio State University at Marion, where she was director of external affairs and expansion and associate director of the regional campus. While at the Ohio campus, she also served as founding director of the Council of Ohio State Women and as development officer for The Critical Difference for Women Initiative, a project of the university's Office of the President.

Her background also includes more than 20 years experience in teaching and educational administration. Hendricks earned an M.A. in British and American literature and history (1968) from the University of Akron and a B.S. in English and elementary education (1962) from Bowling Green University.
