In the Moog

Trevor Pinch, Cornell professor of science and technology studies, waits backstage to serve as host of the third annual Moogfest, a concert held June 22, at B.B. King's Blues Club and Grill in New York City. The event honored the late Cornell University alumnus Robert A. Moog (M.Eng. '64), inventor of The Moog (sounds like "rogue") synthesizer. Performers included Keith Emerson, formerly of Emerson, Lake and Palmer; Roger O'Donnell from The Cure; Jan Hammer of Mahavishnu Orchestra fame; Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater; The School of Rock; and DJ Logic. Pinch is the co-author of the book "Analog Days: The Invention and Impact of the Moog Synthesizer." Moog died last summer.
