Graduation Weekend
• Canoeing: Paddle Beebe Lake, May 29, noon-5 p.m., rain or shine. Canoes provided. $12 per person per hour if preregistered, or $15 on site. One child age 6 or under free with each paid adult. Preregistration strongly recommended: 607-255-6183.
• Guides in the gardens: The Cornell Plantations gardens and natural areas are vibrant with blooms. Volunteer garden docents will be on hand to answer questions about special rhododendron, herb, decorative flower and groundcover collections, May 29, 9 a.m.-noon. Limited parking at the botanical garden, Plantations Road. Information: http://www.cornellplantations.org.
• Rock climbing: No experience is needed to climb on Cornell's indoor natural rock climbing wall, May 29, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m., Bartels Hall. Instruction and all equipment provided. $25 per person for two hours if preregistered, or $30 at the door. Preregistration strongly recommended: 607-255-6183. Minimum age: 6 years.
• Walking tours of campus: Guided walking tours of the campus provide an introduction to Cornell's history, student life and mission. Graduation Weekend tours begin at the Information and Referral Center in the Day Hall lobby, May 29 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The tours are mostly outdoors and accessible to wheelchairs; each lasts about 75 minutes. • Observatory viewings: Weather permitting, the Cornell Astronomical Society will host public viewing hours May 29 and 30 at 9 p.m. in addition to the regular May 28 public viewing hour at 8 p.m. Call the Fuertes hotline, 255-3557, to find out if the observatory will be open. • Guided bird walks: Free guided bird walks for beginning birders on the trails of Sapsucker Woods Sanctuary, May 29 and 30, 7:30-9 a.m. Bring binoculars and a field guide if possible. A few pairs of binoculars are available to borrow. Meet at the Lab of Ornithology, Johnson Center for Birds and Biodiversity. Information: http://www.birds.cornell.edu.
• Concerts: The CU Wind Ensemble will perform May 29, 2:45-4 p.m., Arts Quad. Rain location: Barton Hall. Free. The Cornell University Chorus and Glee Club will perform May 29, 8 p.m., Bailey Hall. $10. Ongoing library exhibits
The Mann Library Gallery features an exhibit of 28 infrared photographs of such campus landmarks as McGraw Tower and Sibley Dome by Cornell plant pathology photographer Kent Loeffler, through June 30. The gallery is located on the second floor of Mann Library.
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, "Known to Everyone -- Liked by All: The Business of Being Mark Twain," will be on display at the Kroch Library, Samuel L. Hirshland Gallery, Level 2B, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays; closed May 31. Information: http://www.library.cornell.edu and http://rmc.library.cornell.edu/twain.
At the museum
The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art exhibits are open daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (May 29, until 7 p.m.), except Memorial Day, May 31.
Current exhibitions include "Nature Observed and Imagined: 500 Years of Chinese Painting," work by assistant professor of Art Michael Ashkin, and an exhibition, "Bodies Unbound: The Classical and the Grotesque," curated by the undergraduate members of the History of Art Majors' Society.

Evolution exhibit
A temporary exhibit, "One Fish, Two Fish, Old Fish, New Fish: Exploring the Biodiversity of Evolution," is on display daily at the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca. Visitors learn about species, their role in the living web of life on Earth, how they arise and decline. Information: http://www.museumoftheearth.org. Admission is charged.
Learn to swing dance
Swing dance classes begin June 1, 7:30 p.m. at the Big Red Barn for six weeks on Tuesdays. No partner needed. The session is $35/students, $50/non-students; 5 percent discount for preregistering. Open to the public. Information: http://cuswing.com/fb-class.
Summer salsa
Salsa classes at the Big Red Barn will take place Wednesdays throughout the summer, 6:30-10 p.m., beginning June 2. Beginner salsa 1: 6:30-7:30 p.m.; guided practice 7:30-7:50 p.m. Beginner salsa 2 and 3: 7:55-8:55 p.m., guided practice 8:55-9:15 p.m. Lead instructor: Michael Luis Ristorucci. Guest instructor: Chelsea Rose. Cost: $36 for students, $60 per couple for four-week session, $11 for drop-in. Non-students: $40 per person, $72 per couple for four-week session, $13 for drop-in.
