In a breakthrough discovery, researchers at Weill Medical College of Cornell University believe they have pinpointed the mechanism that triggers relapse in patients with deadly multiple myeloma.While available drugs can push the disease into temporary remission, fatal, uncontrolled cell division always re-emerges over time. The newest addition to Cornell University's North Campus is the Carol Tatkon Center, an academic center for first-year students, located in the south wing of the university's Balch Hall. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new center will be held Friday, Aug. 22, at 5:15 p.m. The Carol Tatkon Center was designed to connect the academic heart of the university with the residential center for first-year student life on North Campus.
