By Susan Kelley
Two new additions to the Cornell University Board of Trustees were recently elected. Paul Salvatore '81, J.D. '84, and Eileen (McManus) Walker '76, MBA '78, were elected by the alumni as alumni trustees. The board helps determine major policy directions for the university and has an important role in safeguarding its integrity.
Salvatore is a partner and co-chair of Proskauer Rose's 150-attorney labor and employment law department. He is widely recognized as one of the leading labor and employment lawyers in the United States. Salvatore serves as a speaker for the Society for Human Resource Management and is the longtime legal columnist for HR Executive Magazine. He lives in Bedford Corners, N.Y.
Walker, who lives in Ridgefield, Conn., is a former IBM human resources executive, most recently serving as personnel manager for IBM's General Technology Division in Old Orchard, N.Y. She has been active at her children's school, the Harvey School, where she is currently vice chair of the board of trustees and co-chair of the capital campaign. She is the eldest of five children of Howard N. McManus, the late professor of engineering.
Salvatore and Walker will serve four-year terms starting July 1.
