Botanic Gardens lecture explores Hundred Acre Wood

In the first event of Cornell Botanic Gardens’ Fall Lecture Series, author Kathryn Aalto on Sept. 12 will discuss her book, “The Natural World of Winnie-the-Pooh: A Walk Through the Forest That Inspired the Hundred Acre Wood.”

New Cornell hub for historical keyboards opens Sept. 6

A new hub for historical keyboard studies launches at Cornell with the opening of the Cornell Center for Historical Keyboards, 726 University Ave. An opening event is planned for Sept. 6-7.

Linguist Carol Rosen dies at 79

Carol Gilson Rosen, professor emerita of linguistics, died Aug. 19 in Ithaca. She was 79. She taught at Cornell from 1978 to 2010.
