The Cornell Research Academy of Development, Law and Economics, a new initiative directed by professors Kaushik Basu and Robert Hockett, hosts its first major conference on April 12-13 in New York City.
A faculty committee charged with exploring opportunities to position the social sciences at Cornell for excellence in 10 to 15 years has issued a report that will serve as the basis for campuswide discussion over the coming months.
Among the recommendations in the committee’s final report are changes that would allow for greater exploration, simplify graduation requirements, and encourage faculty to adopt innovative approaches to teaching.
