Negotiating the challenges of safe, reliable, and affordable housing, Cornell AAP architecture and planning students collaborated with Slum Dwellers International and local residents to explore alternative housing design and construction strategies for Mathare, an informal settlement in Nairobi, Kenya.
The exhibit celebrates a century of applying science and design to the study of the home, the result of a collaboration between the museum and the College of Human Ecology as part of its centennial year.
Students can win up to $1,500 for projects that combine art and technology in the inaugural Art + Tech exhibit hosted by The Milstein Program in Technology and Humanity.
