Zalaznick Teaching Assistantships awarded

Thirteen Cornell professors recently received awards from the Louis H. Zalaznick Teaching Assistantship program, administered by Entrepreneurship@Cornell. The awards allow faculty affiliated with Entrepreneurship@Cornell to extend their capacity to work with students by providing one or more assistants to help with their courses.

This year's recipients are:

David BenDaniel, the Don and Margi Berens Professor of Entrepreneurship, Johnson School, for his course, Leveraged Buyouts and Structured Finance.

Alan Biloski, senior lecturer, Johnson School, for his courses, the Investment Banking Practicum and Biotech and Business.

Ola Bengtsson, assistant professor of finance and entrepreneurship, Johnson School, for his courses Advanced Private Equity and Cases in Venture Capital Financing.

Brenda Bricker, director of leadership and undergraduate research, College of Human Ecology, for her courses Collaborative Leadership and Leadership in Nonprofits.

John Callister, director of the Harvey Kinzelberg Entrepreneurship in Engineering Program, for his courses on entrepreneurship for engineers.

Susan Christopherson, the J. Thomas Clark Professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning, College of Architecture, Art and Planning, for her courses The Creative Economy and Economic Development Policy.

Dan Cohen, Student Agencies eLab Entrepreneur-in-Residence and professor in the ILR School, for his courses on entrepreneurship and business strategy, as well as with the eLab and the undergraduate Big Idea Competition.

David Funk, director of the Program in Real Estate, Department of City and Regional Planning, for his seminar courses and help in developing online learning modules.

Pedro Perez, lecturer, applied economics and management, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, for his two introductory entrepreneurship courses.

James H. Quest, Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Hotel School, for help in the Bottled Water Competition.

Wes Sine, J. Thomas Clark Professor of Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise, Johnson School, for his courses on technology and entrepreneurship.

Deborah Streeter, the Bruce F. Failing Sr. Professor of Personal Enterprise and Small Business Management, applied economics and management, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, for her courses on women and entrepreneurship, International Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Leadership and Personal Enterprise and Small Business Management.

Anke Wessels, executive director of the Center for Transformative Action, for her new course, Social Entrepreneurs, Problem Solvers and Innovators.

The assistantships were established in 1993 by David W. Zalaznick '76, a Cornell trustee, and his wife, Barbara '76, to honor David's father, Louis.
