Marco Recuay '03 wins Emmy Award

Marco Recuay '03 walked away with a statue at the 2010 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held Aug. 21 in Los Angeles. Recuay, a film major at Cornell, received the Emmy for Visual Effects in a Miniseries or Movie for HBO's "The Pacific." The awards ceremony will be broadcast Aug. 27 on E!

This is Recuay's first nomination and first Emmy. He contributed to seven episodes of the HBO series as digital effects supervisor, a role he has had on nine feature films, including "Next," "The Mist," "Spider-Man 3" and "Zodiac." He was 3-D supervisor on "Ghost Rider" and has worked as a compositor, digital artist or composite supervisor on more than a dozen other films since 2004, including "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe."

Another alumnus, Scott Ferguson '82, is up for two 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards as the producer of the HBO films "Temple Grandin" and "You Don't Know Jack," both nominated for Outstanding Made for Television Movie. Ferguson is a veteran Hollywood producer of such films as "The Firm," "Laurel Canyon" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."

The Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live Aug. 29 on NBC.
