Taste of Culture 2015 to feature diverse food, performances

Culturally diverse entrees, desserts and performances will abound at Taste of Culture, the Translator Interpreter Program’s free semiannual food festival, Monday, March 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Willard Straight Hall Memorial Room. Culture groups and performance organizations will participate to share their passion with the Cornell community.

“At Taste of Culture, guests have the opportunity to enjoy dishes from various cultures, learn a few phrases in foreign languages, and celebrate Cornell's tremendously diverse student body,” said Tu Tu, a student in the College of Arts and Sciences and coordinator for Taste of Culture.

The Translator Interpreter Program (TIP) in the Cornell Public Service Center is a student organization that recruits and trains volunteer translators and interpreters to serve in emergency and non-emergency situations. TIP’s Taste of Culture event has provided Cornell students with a unique cultural perspective for more 20 years.

TIP will host a volunteer training session March 18 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 122 Rockefeller Hall. Students interested in becoming involved with the organization can contact TIP at translator@cornell.edu.
