Procurement receives national award for fifth year

For the fifth year in a row, Cornell’s Procurement and Payment Services has been awarded the Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute (NPI).

Cornell’s procurement office was one of 27 higher education institutions – and one of only five recipients in New York state – to receive this award. The award is earned by organizations that demonstrate excellence in the areas of innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership.

“The ability to continue receiving this award is a testament to our staff’s commitment to stewardship, process improvement and excellence,” said Thomas Romantic, senior director of Procurement and Payment Services.

NPI is a national network of purchasing and supply management professionals; its award program encourages the development of excellence and continued organizational improvement.
