Faculty members are encouraged to apply for the position of provost’s fellow for public engagement. The application period closes Oct. 15.

The provost’s fellow, who serves a two-year term, works closely with Katherine McComas, vice provost for engagement and land-grant affairs, and with the Office of Engagement Initiatives. Gerard Aching, M.A. ’90, Ph.D. ’91, professor of Africana studies and Romance studies, has served in the position since July 2017.

The provost’s fellow contributes to the broad mission of public engagement at Cornell, with a particular focus on advancing the university’s community-engaged learning initiative. The provost’s fellow will be a vital partner in implementing a new strategic plan related to community-engaged learning, an advocate in advancing the cause of public engagement and a key facilitator of engagement across the university.
