Cornell trustees to meet in New York City Jan. 23 through 25

The Cornell University Board of Trustees will hold its first meeting of 1997 at the Cornell University Medical College in New York City, Jan. 23 through Jan. 25.
The full board will meet in open session on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Education Center in the Medical College's Harkness Medical Research Building, 1300 York Ave. Topics of discussion will include tuition recommendations for the statutory colleges and the annual report on research.
In addition to the full board meeting, the following committees with open sessions will meet on Thursday, Jan. 23:
- The Buildings and Properties Committee will meet at 9 a.m. in Room A-126. The status of ongoing projects will be discussed during the brief open session.
- The Committee on Academic Affairs and Campus Life will meet at 4 p.m. in Room A-126 in the Harkness Building, beginning with an open session to discuss the Fraternities and Sororities Strategic Plan and academic program review.
- The Land Grant and Statutory College Affairs Committee will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. in Room A-126. Among items to be discussed at this open meeting are the 1997-98 SUNY budget, the federal and state financial climate, tuitions and an update on plans for the Agricultural Experiment Station at Geneva.
- The Audit Committee will have an open session at the beginning of its meeting at 6:30 p.m. in Whitney 117. The committee's annual report will be reviewed.
Tickets for the Board of Trustees meeting may be obtained by the general public on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Information and Referral Center desk in Day Hall, Ithaca.
