Johnson School offers eClips to small businesses via Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative

Cornell has partnered with Prendismo, a developer of digital video and podcasts on entrepreneurship and leadership, to deliver video and audio clips on business and entrepreneurship topics to small business owners through the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative.

Prendismo has licensed Cornell's eClips, a digital audio and video library, and related content for the initiative's curriculum. The library includes more than 14,000 video and audio clips from edited interviews with business experts, experienced entrepreneurs, Fortune 500 executives and other business leaders. Prendismo's database of specialized content, including the eClips material, can be searched by topic.

Cornell's Johnson School acts as a liaison between Cornell and the $500 million Goldman Sachs initiative, launched in 2009 to support small businesses as drivers of economic growth and development. The initiative's goal is to unlock the growth and job creation potential of 10,000 small businesses across the United States, through greater access to business education, financial capital and business support services.

The university is an education partner with the initiative, which delivers its curriculum through partnerships with local community colleges, leading universities, business schools and other institutions.

"The initiative should be transformative," said Zachary Shulman, director of Entrepreneurship@Johnson and senior lecturer of entrepreneurship. The eClips content will be delivered by Prendismo "directly to small business owners who are already up and running," he said.

The eClips content can also be viewed directly online at http://eclips.cornell.edu/homepage.do.

"Our digital media content will add the depth of real-world experience to an academically well-crafted syllabus," said Kirsten Barker '92, Prendismo president who helped develop Prendismo's online platform in 2008. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to reach out to so many small business owners via Goldman Sachs' innovative platform."

The initiative's Advisory Council includes Cornell President David Skorton, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, Warren Buffett, and Michael Porter of Harvard Business School.
