Cornell scientist Alexander Kazimirov dies while hiking

Cornell scientist Alexander Kazimirov died of a heart attack Aug. 12 while hiking Algonquin Mountain in the Adirondacks. He was 59.
Kazimirov, a resident of Dryden, N.Y., was a senior research associate at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source. He completed his Ph.D. in physics in Moscow and had also worked in Stuttgart, Germany, and in Chicago before coming to Ithaca. He was born July 29, 1952, in the Russian village of Glubokiy.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, Aug. 17, from 4-6 p.m.
